Social Media Volunteers
Do you like posting on social media?
Are you an active member of a fandom (Supernatural, Twilight, Harry Potter, etc.)?
Would you like to help make the world a better place?
If you answered “YES!” to all of the above, you might just be a fit for one of our volunteer social media positions here at Random Fandom Life!
We are looking for energetic, motivated fans to help us monitor and maintain our social media presence across several platforms.
“What would I have to do?”
• Work collaboratively with other members of RFL to create content for social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
• Post content on channels
• Monitor channel traffic for issues and opportunities
• Participate in monthly board meetings, special meetings as needed.
“What do I get for my efforts?”
• This is a volunteer position, so there is no monetary compensation.
• After a 90 day probationary period, your name, title, and photo can be included on the RFL web page.
• As an RFL Corporate Volunteer, you get free entry into all events run by RFL (restrictions apply).
• As an RFL Corporate Volunteer, you get a complimentary item from all campaigns run by RFL (restrictions apply). This item is paid for personally by our Chief Executive Officer, Kearson Winchester, and does not come from funds raised by RFL
•Interesting conversation at all hours of the day and night (we use Facebook Messenger, which can be muted).
• The warm, fuzzy feeling of bringing awesome fandom experiences to life, which also help to make the world a better place.
“How do I know if I’m the right fit?”
• Excellent written communication – Not only can you express yourself well in 280 characters or less, you are also capable of writing full sentences that don’t cause red and green squiggles in Microsoft Word.
• Time management skills – You can meet deadlines and get things done well before they are due in order to allow for editing.
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve – Sometimes stuff goes sideways and you have to get more than one thing done and fix that other thing that’s also on fire.
• Attention to detail – Saying “That’s good enough, I guess.” probably won’t cut it.
• A team player, flexible when various projects and needs arise – We are a small group, so you have to be able to play nice.
• Competency with variety of programs and skill sets conducive to content creation – If you only know how to use Twitter, that is totally fine, but if you can make digital content/graphics and other cool things, that would be super helpful.
• You can be in any time zone in the world, just know that RFL runs on United States Pacific Time. so the hours for this position may require late nights and weekends.
• All volunteers must be in agreement with the vision, values and mission statement of Random Fandom Life, Inc. and adhere to the guidelines and conditions for participation as outlined in the Volunteer Handbook.
